E’ville Fuzz arrives two-and-a-half years after 6 Day Bender’s self-titled debut. The title references the farmhouse in Earlysville, Virginia, where the band crafted the album’s thirteen songs, as well as the ‘fuzzier,’ more blues-oriented dimension the album explores.
Frontman Luke Nutting explains, “The neighbors shot guns all day, so we figured they wouldn’t mind us pushing our guitars.”
“We didn’t get rid of our old sound so much as expand it in new directions,” adds guitarist Clayton Avent, who also contributes cello to the album. “There’s still some twang in there – it’s just louder.” The album’s first single, “Deliverance,” testifies quite loudly to that.
The band recorded the new project between bouts of touring, bankrolling the studio sessions with proceeds from the road. The result is a high-octane rock record with one foot on the front porch and the other in the garage.
